I love fudge and I like making it but goodness me it can be tricky to get it right. Recently a friend asked me if I could recommend anyone for home made fudge so I thought I'd have a go at working out an easy and quick recipe for making fudge at home.It really is easy, easy enough for my little darlings even.
1 tin Carnation Dulce de Leche caramel (392g)
220g Orange Aero
80g Icing sugar (plus a little for sprinkling)
This will make a large batch!
Pour the Dulce de Leche into a large microwavable bowl, break up the chocolate into small squares and add to the bowl.
Melt the butter and add that into the bowl.
Microwave on high power (mine is 850 watt), you need approximately of 14 minutes on the clock for this BUT you don't want to burn the chocolate because it will taste awful so be sure to stop and stir every 2 minutes.
About 6 minutes in add in the icing sugar - continue to microwave and stop and stir.
You should notice it starts firming up after you have added the sugar.
Line 2 loaf tins with foil or baking paper and make sure you have fridge space!
After the 14 minutes your fudge will still be runny but noticeably thicker.
Pour into the lined tins and refrigerate over night.
Once set remove from the tins, pop the fudge onto a plate and cut into squares.
You may notice at this point that it is still slightly soft but don't panic, it's not ruined, once cut into smaller squares and being left a little while it will firm up, dust lightly with icing sugar and there you have it, scrummy choc orange fudge - Quick and delish, shame I forgot a photo this time but I'll add one soon.
