Buttoning ribbon - toddler activity

I love Pinterest! Who doesn't? I have been Pinning for a couple of years now and love to try my hand at some of the things I have seen and loved on there, even if they might be a little out of my comfort zone. With my Little People being 2 & 3 they now like to choose their own clothes and get themselves dressed (which is not always a good thing!) and one thing they have been struggling with is buttons so when I saw this great idea, a button snake, I thought it looked easy enough to have a go at myself.

I have stacks and stacks of ribbon so took 2 pieces at 50cm each & stitched a button on one end of each. Next I took some scrap felt squares, folded them in half and made a small cut in the middle so when unfolded you have a simple button hole.

Your little one can practice buttoning and develop motor skills and it literally takes minutes to make. These will be going in the home made busy bags I am *almost* done making - have a go yourself :)
